This lot includes two (2) complete Myers EPS Illuminator central inverter emergency lighting systems, each consisting of dual interconnected steel cabinets in Myers' signature red powder-coat finish. These are life safety-grade battery backup inverter systems designed to provide uninterrupted emergency egress lighting during utility power failures in commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. System Overview Each Myers EPS Illuminator system integrates a solid-state IGBT power inverter, a fully automatic 3-rate battery charger, a solid-state transfer system, control circuitry, and self-testing/recording digital diagnostics into a self-contained, fully automatic standby power source. When utility power is lost, the system automatically transfers to battery-backed inverter operation, delivering a pure sine wave AC output to connected emergency lighting circuits. The system provides a minimum 90 minutes of emergency runtime as required by UL 924 and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code. If battery capacity is exhausted beyond the designed runtime, the inverter automatically shuts down at 85% of nominal DC voltage to protect the batteries from deep discharge damage. Battery System Each unit houses multiple shelves of front-access, maintenance-free sealed VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) batteries arranged in series strings. The batteries are visible in the upper and lower shelves of each cabinet, with the inverter/charger power electronics occupying the middle shelves. The 3-rate charger automatically manages float, equalize, and boost charge modes to maintain optimal battery health and readiness at all times. Inverter Electronics The center shelves of each cabinet contain the inverter power bridge, transfer switch electronics, control boards, and output regulation circuitry. The system operates at up to 98% efficiency and produces a true sine wave output, making it compatible with all lighting types including LED, fluorescent, incandescent, quartz halogen, and HID fixtures — without the need for quartz restrike on HID loads. Self-Testing & Diagnostics Each system features NFPA 101-compliant automated monthly and annual self-testing with full event, alarm, and test logging. The front-panel digital meter display provides real-time monitoring of input voltage, output voltage, output current, battery voltage, battery current, ambient temperature, inverter runtime, and system days online. Password-protected user-programmable features allow facility managers to customize test schedules and alarm thresholds. Communications (if equipped) Myers EPS Illuminator systems support optional building management system integration via BACnet MS/TP, BACnet TCP/IP, MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP/IP, and RS-232 serial communication protocols. IoT Inverter Connect cloud monitoring may also be available, enabling remote status monitoring and email/text alarm notifications. Construction & Code Compliance Cabinets are constructed of heavy-gauge steel with a durable red powder-coat finish, ventilated side panels, and lockable front doors for secure access. Systems are UL 924 listed, NFPA 101 compliant, and designed to meet NEC requirements for emergency lighting and life safety power systems. All battery and electrical connections are front-accessible for simplified maintenance and battery replacement.
