A gravity relief / backdraft damper from Acme Engineering and Manufacturing, still with its shipping carton and hardware bag. This is the ARF17 base unit as ordered for an EF-1 exhaust fan tag.

CONSTRUCTION (as pictured)

- Riveted aluminum outer sleeve/frame with pre-drilled mounting holes

- Inner damper frame with multiple horizontal counterbalanced blades

- Blades hang closed by gravity and swing open under exhaust airflow, then fall shut to block backdraft, weather and insects when the fan stops

- Sealed hardware bag included inside the unit

WHERE IT GOES

Paired with a wall or roof exhaust fan as the relief/backdraft damper: greenhouses and grow facilities, warehouses, machine shops, commercial kitchens, agricultural buildings, and any make-up air or exhaust opening that needs to stay shut when the fan is off. A 17 x 17 nominal opening is a very common small exhaust fan size.

CONDITION

New, never installed. The unit is out of the box for photos and shows light storage dust and handling marks on the aluminum; blades and frame are straight with no visible damage. Hardware bag is still sealed. Original carton with the factory labels is included. NOT installed, cycled or airflow tested by SecondBloom.
